The Hofmann H18-2 is a compact, narrow, and highly manoeuvrable self-propelled road marking machine designed for medium-capacity marking operations across a wide range of road types and environments. It occupies a versatile position in the Hofmann line-up, capable of delivering professional results on highways, urban roads, and airfield surfaces. The machine’s narrow build and responsive hydraulic drive system make it well suited to projects where tight turning radii and controlled movement are essential to workflow.

At the core of the Hofmann H18-2 is a water-cooled Kubota 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine with a displacement of 2,400 cm³. Two emission variants are available: Variant I (Non-Label, comparable to EU Stage IIIA / EPA Tier 4 Interim) producing 44.0 kW at 2,700 rpm, and Variant II (EU Stage V / EPA Tier 4) with a diesel oxidation catalyst and diesel particulate filter, producing 48.6 kW at 2,700 rpm. The hydraulic wheel-motor drive system provides stepless speed control, while the automatic cooling system continuously adjusts fan speed to ambient temperature and machine load — reducing noise under normal operation and increasing cooling output under extreme conditions.

The H18-2 supports a comprehensive set of application technologies, including cold paints, 2-component cold plastics, sprayable 2K cold plastics, thermoplastics, and sprayable thermoplastics. Tank capacities vary by technique, with cold paint and 2K cold plastic systems accommodating up to 540 litres, thermoplastics up to 420 litres, and sprayable thermoplastics up to 320 litres. Line widths of 10 to 100 cm are achievable depending on equipment configuration, and the modular quick-release pallet system allows application units to be swapped with minimal effort — a key advantage on projects requiring multiple material types in a single shift.

Leader Infra supplies the Hofmann H18-2 as part of its professional road marking equipment range, providing access to one of Germany’s most established marking machine manufacturers. The operator workstation features all controls relocatable to either side of the machine without requiring guide rail pre-installation, ensuring clear visibility during both centre-line and lateral marking work. A fold-out access ladder and all-round visibility — including during reverse travel — support safe and productive site operation.

FAQ — Can the H18-2 be configured for airport marking work? Yes, the H18-2 has been deployed at airports internationally, including projects in Rome, Mumbai, Singapore, and at Royal Air Force facilities in the UK. It can be equipped with wide-stroke markers up to 100 cm wide using multiple spray guns and bead guns, making it fully compatible with runway, taxiway, and apron marking requirements.
