Helideck HMS Repeater Lights

Frictape HMS Lights, Helideck Motion Status and Circle & H Lighting Systems — CAP 437 compliant HMS Repeater Lights and Circle & H Netlight covering all helideck pilot visual guidance requirements offshore and onshore.

Key Features:

✔️ HMS Repeater Lights — Three-color status output (blue/amber/red) at all four deck corners.

✔️ Single Cable Per Unit — One cable per repeater; full loop on one cable run reduces CAPEX.

✔️ Circle & H Netlight — Two versions: net-integrated Classic or deck-fixed Fixed Netlight.

✔️ Under 25 mm Profile — Total installed height including lights, baseplate, and net.

✔️ ATEX / IECEx / IP66-69K — Full hazardous area and ingress protection ratings on Netlight.

The Frictape HMS Lights product range covers two certified helideck lighting systems: the HMS Repeater Lights and the Circle & H Netlight. The HMS Repeater Lights are installed at each of the four corners of a moving helideck, hardwired to the vessel’s Helideck Monitoring System via a single cable per repeater unit. The system uses one centralized light sensor for the entire installation and outputs three status colors — blue, amber, and red — in steady or flashing modes to signal deck operational status to inbound pilots. The electronics architecture incorporates state-of-the-art heat dissipation to maintain low operating temperature and maximize component service life. The Circle & H Netlight consists of custom light modules available in two versions: Classic Netlight integrates modules directly into the Frictape landing net requiring no deck drilling, while Fixed Netlight mounts modules to the deck surface via screws or rivets. Total installed height of the Netlight system — including lights, baseplate, and landing net — remains under 25 mm. Netlight carries ATEX, IECEx, IP66, IP67, and IP69K ratings, along with ABS and DNV type approval.

The HMS Repeater system is certified by UK CAA, ABS, and DNV, and is fully compliant with CAP 437 Edition 9, Chapter 6.4, which mandated HMS repeater lights on all moving helidecks from April 1, 2021. Only one cable run is required to loop all four corner units, reducing CAPEX installation costs. The Netlight’s friction coefficient exceeds 0.65 across the landing surface, and all light module components withstand loads from the heaviest operational helicopters. Both systems require no maintenance across their operational service lives.

Frictape HMS Lights are deployed on offshore oil and gas platforms, FPSOs, drilling rigs, offshore wind vessels, naval ships, and hospital helipads globally. The HMS Repeater Lights give pilots a direct visual read of helideck motion status and wind conditions before and after landing. The Circle & H Netlight provides touchdown and positioning marking illumination for both offshore night operations and low-visibility hospital helipad approaches compliant with CAP 437 and CAP 1264.

Leader Infra supplies this dual-certified, globally approved helideck lighting range — covering both CAP 437 HMS repeater compliance and Circle & H illumination requirements within a single, proven product family certified by UK CAA, ABS, and DNV for worldwide operations.

FAQ — Can the Circle & H Netlight be installed without drilling holes into the helideck surface? Yes. The Classic Netlight version integrates light modules directly into the Frictape landing net, requiring no bolts, screws, or rivets in the helideck surface. This preserves the structural integrity of the deck coating, significantly reduces installation time, and allows the entire system to be removed and reinstalled on a different helideck if required.
